Shunter

As a shunter at DPD Netherlands, you are responsible for correctly placing units with a shunting vehicle according to work and safety instructions, quality standards, and guidelines. We work from Monday to Sunday in three shifts (07:00/15:30 - 14:00/22:30 - 22:30/07:00) with a corresponding shift allowance. Everyone is required to work a Sunday shift from time to time. If you start on a Sunday, you will have the following Friday off.

Furthermore, you ensure that the processing of packages is efficient and timely by correctly placing units on the premises and maintaining the shunting vehicle and other moving equipment properly. You identify bottlenecks, report damage promptly, and perform light administrative tasks to ensure information processing. You also contribute to a clean and safe working environment and promote sustainability following DPD's environmental policy. Compliance with the GDPR within your work area is also your responsibility.

Your responsibilities:

• correct and efficient placement of units according to safety regulations;

• maintaining the shunting vehicle and other moving equipment;

• identifying bottlenecks and reporting damage promptly;

• performing light administrative tasks;

• contributing to a clean and safe working environment following safety, traffic, and house rules;

• promoting sustainability at depot or department level;

• complying with the GDPR and reporting violations to your supervisor.

What are we looking for?

• Lower vocational education level.

• Knowledge of the English language in word and writing.

• Driver's license B and optionally driver's license T (not mandatory).

• Proactive attitude and initiative to implement improvements.

• Strong focus on customer orientation, both internally and externally.

• Effective communication, both orally and in writing.

• Excellent planning and organizational skills.

• Team player with the necessary professional knowledge and skills.
